The region Saalfelden-Leogang is a paradise for hikers and cyclists.

The large Saalfelden basin - surrounded by grassy mountains and the Steinernes Meer - offers easy and simple hiking trails in the valley, which are best-suited to beginners or families with children. In addition to this, there is a plentiful amount of hikes to catered lodges and scenic summits. Those, who would like to go on a high-alpine hike, will strike gold at the Steinernes Meer among other places. And climbers can find countless rock faces in the region at the Steinernes Meer, as well as in the Leogang and Loferer Steinberge. For climbing novices, there are suitable climbing parks and mountain guides.

As a cyclist or biker, you are well served here, in Austria's largest bike region. Alongside easy and flat cycle paths in the valley - particularly on the famous valley cycle path - you can ride to alpine lodges and treat yourself to the regional delicacies and cool drinks there. You can also go on a bike and hike tour, with the mountain bike to the alpine pasture and from there, on foot to a summit. Extreme mountain bikers and specialists can spend their time in the bike park Leogang - an experience like no other.

The Epic Bikepark Leogang - one of the largest and most famous bike parks in Europe -  is also located in Austria's largest bike region, Saalfelden-Leogang. Here, you can test out the limits of your ability and your stamina on 14 different lines and trails in various difficulty levels. For beginners and kids, there's the riders playground, a 10,000 m2 area with pump tracks, beginner lines with a conveyor belt and other trails, where you can practice your first shreds on safe terrain.

In winter and in spring, the region of Saalfelden-Leogang offers an extensive sport, culture and culinary programme. Here there's always something going on - for example "Tonspur trifft Skispur", White Pearl Mountain Days, Asitz Music Night, numerous sports competitions, eating the traditional lodge food, Kasnockn and so much more...

The sports lovers among you will have fun skiing, free riding, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snow tubing, ice-skating, curling, riding, doing archery, paragliding, ski touring, winter or snowshoe hiking and much more.

The Biathlon centre in Hochfilzen can be reached by cross-country skiers (or naturally in the car), the Nordic Centre Saalfelden is practically on your doorstep. In Leogang you can comfortably enter the ski circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

Tradition lovers can find a large repertoire of possibilities during this time from the “Anklöckeln” to the Krampusläufe (devils races), concerts, Christmas markets and events, traditional festivals, and markets to the traditional events.
